Tammy Lynn Leppert: Missing Since July 6, 1983

Leppert left her family's home in Rockledge, Florida at 11:00 a.m. on July 6, 1983 with a male friend. Her friend later told authorities that he and Leppert had an argument while driving and that he left her standing in a parking lot outside the Glass Bank near an Exxon gasoline station in the vicinity of State Road A1A between 2nd Street North and 3rd Street North in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Leppert carried a gray purse when she went missing. Many reports erroneously state that she was barefoot at the time of her disappearance. Her mother said she noticed Leppert had not combed her hair before leaving the house that day, which is very uncharacteristic of her; she usually spent considerable time on her appearance before going anywhere. At the time of her disappearance, Leppert was planning to go to California to act in some movies. She apparently never arrived there, however.

Jodi Huisentruit: Missing Since June 27, 1995

In Mason City, Iowa—where tall corn stalks sway on the outskirts and the Winnebago River glides quietly at the city’s edge—a voice once rose every morning to greet the dawn. Her name was Jodi Sue Huisentruit, the effervescent 27-year-old anchor for KIMT-TV’s early broadcast. She was a Minnesota transplant, a small-town girl with big ambitions, beloved for her warm smile and kind heart.

But on June 27, 1995, the lights in the KIMT newsroom felt suddenly too harsh, the air too still. Jodi hadn’t reported to work—unthinkable for the punctual anchor always hustling in before sunup. When calls to her apartment yielded only ominous silence, police were summoned. By the time the first officers stepped into the Key Apartments parking lot, a new hush descended on Mason City, one that has never quite lifted.

Corrine Erstad: Missing Since June 1, 1992

In the summer of 1992, when the warm breeze drifted through the tree-lined streets of this quiet suburb, a small child’s laughter should have filled the air. Instead, the neighborhood was plunged into a decades-long nightmare. On June 1, 5-year-old Corrine vanished after leaving her home to play at a nearby park. She has never been found.

From the moment Corrine’s mother first dialed 911 until the final gavel fell in a tense courtroom, her disappearance has been mired in suspicion, fraught family dynamics, and legal controversy. Today, more than 30 years later, the case remains unsolved—a stark reminder of a child lost, a family fractured, and a justice system’s limitations in the early years of DNA forensics.

Brianna Alexandra Maitland was seventeen years old when she vanished on March 19th, 2004. She punched out of work at her new job as a dishwasher at the Black Lantern Inn in Montgomery, Vermont at 11:20 pm. Brianna's coworkers had invited her to join them for dinner after the shift, but she was tired and wanted to get some rest before her first day at her second job at KJ’s Diner, as a waitress. She had a long day. Brianna woke early that Friday morning. Her mother picked her up to go out for breakfast before Brianna took her high school equivalency exam. Earning her GED would be a meaningful accomplishment after withdrawing from high school that previous year.
